A BREAK DOWN ON OUR ADOPTION PROCESS:
WHAT TO BRING: Don’t forget to bring a cat carrier & driver’s license. Our entire process takes about 30 minutes, which includes paperwork, photo, & going over our pet education packet. Want to learn the top 7 things all cat owners need to know (some may surprise you). Click here to read our blog.
MEET THE KITTIES: We allow you to meet your kitty in a smaller room when available. We shut the door so you can get to know your new friend on your own.
PAPERWORK TIME: Once you’ve chosen your new family member-it is time to complete the paperwork. We go over all the details thoroughly and you get a copy of any vet documentation and the pet’s history. You are sent home with a copy as well.
INFORMATIONAL PACKET: Furry Nation Salvation is passionate on pet education so you have a successful adoption with your new friend. We go over a packet with demonstrations on why canned wet food given daily is vital for your cat’s health (Click here to learn why) and why free feeding dry food isn't a good option, teach you how to cut their nails (and preserve your furniture), explain how to properly discipline (and keep their trust), and demonstrate how easy it is to take care of your pets teeth using enzymatic pet toothpaste. We will give you a copy of this packet as well. Check out this blog if you'd like.
ADOPTION FEE/WHAT IT COVERS: Our adoption fee is typically $100 for kittens and $25-45 for adult cats and covers:
- Spay/Neuter,
- All 3 FVRCP (kitten’s core vaccines),
- Rabies vaccine,
- Deworming (5 days of panacur),
- 30-day flea preventative
- Microchipping (with free registration).
*Our fees can be higher for particular breeds or long hair.
*Our fees can also be lower than $45 for older cats or shy ones.
SAY CHEESE: The best way to document the adoption day is with a photo! And well-We LOVE a good photo….so be prepared as we may take more than just a few. Don’t worry-we will text them right over to you!
COMING BACK FOR FURTHER VETTING: If you adopt a kitten that is too young to be fixed, they are required to come back to us for their spay/neuter & further vaccinations at a later time (typically at 4-5 months of age). We do have options if you chose to use your own vet that we can discuss. We will make the spay/neuter appointment work for anyone’s schedule as you are able to arrive to us as early as needed on the morning of your scheduled appointment and pick up as late as needed on the same day. We take the pet to and from the clinic. Please note: We are NOT able to take the pet the night before as this simply causes too much stress on them. Don't worry, once we have the appointment scheduled, we will let you know! We also will send you a reminder of this appointment the week before and the day before.
When you adopt from us you become part of our Furry Nation family! We love sharing photo updates to our social media pages that our previous adopters share with us. Many of whom stay in touch and support us through our Facebook, Instagram. and TikTok. We are always here with questions or advice even after the adoption takes place as we seriously LOVE what we do!
